DAY TWO

WRITERS BLOG - Wednesday, May 1st - Arrived in Dublin.

So how do I count the ways...the many many ways your travel day can get, well, bumpy. Let’s start with the hour and a half delay in Dallas...waiting for an unknown part that was needed in London. Got the part, they forgot the paper work. Then there was a little issue with lightening and oh, how could we forget the aircraft with an emergency blocking the runway. Yes, we had to wait for that.

Finally on our way and about two hours into flight, over the Atlantic, we hit the worst turbulence ever. Up, down, side to side, felt like we were doing the Macarena! We land at 9:38 instead of 8:10. Yes, we missed our connector, which would have left out of terminal 3, two gates down from where we deplaned. So off we went to Terminal 2. By bus. In the under belly of Heathrow. Then through security where we had to empty everything out of our carry-ons, and of course get scanned because one of us has metal in her body and another had lots of oils. Yeah, now for the proverbial pat down. Two of us got that treatment, one for her metal and one for her oils.

Finally we make it to our gate only to find out we didn’t have boarding passes and we had to go back to the Aer Linguis counter, the longest line of course, to retrieve boarding passes. Now, the only worry, did our bags make it? To be continued....
